After a long winter sleep, it is time to get back to blogging world! And I say finally, because seeing this page all alone for a few months made me feel so sad, but unfortunately find some time between this and that and have some inspiration to write some articles… well I got stuck. But, thank god, the spring is here and it calls for some changes in routine … and especially in skin routine. Since I got into beauty, I am feeling that with every spring coming, I have an urge to reset my body and my mind, but the skin too. In fact, many dermatologists are being requested (well at least were, until this Corona Virus thing showed up) by their clients for skin cleansing during this season to make any winter dullness or gray skin symptoms to disappear. Sure, you can try some more aggressive options like chemical peels or lasers, but there are more and very good options to brighten your skin and the Vitamin C is the option.
Vitamin C is considered a wonder ingredient in skincare, too. It is a great antioxidant that helps to treat damages from pollution, sun, stress and any other factors that contribute to skin dullness. It has a brightening effect and reduces a pigmentation appearance and also reduces wrinkles, as its ingredients boost collagen production and firm the skin, providing a fresher and brighter look to the skin.
There is a wide range of Vitamin C products that you can find in stores (or now definitely online) that will suit your budget. However, before making an order, there are few key factors that you need to have in mind that being regularly exposed to the air, as it happens with serum droppers or pots, Vitamin C will rapidly degenerate and loses its effective properties. So, if you are about to buy a product packaged in a dropper bottle (these are cute and so instagrammable, I know, I have many of those and absolutely love them!) or similar package, chose the ascorbic acid or L-ascorbic acid types, since these are more stable and maintain their effective properties longer.
So, let’s check the Vitamin C products here:
The Ordinary Vitamin C Collection
The famous and the most instagrammable brand so far, the Ordinary is known for their good quality and very affordable products, has a wide list of Vitamin C products to choose from: heavy serums, light serums and oils.
The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% (30 ml) is a water-free, silicone-free product which contains pure 23% L-Ascorbic Acid. It’s an ideal option for dramatic and fast results and keeps your skin hydrated and smooth.
To get the most of this product, you shall apply it at night time, right after any water-based solutions, so you can wake up with a brighter and more youthful complexion.
However, this is a very strong solution, so if you have a sensitive skin, you may want to avoid this and use The Ordinary Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%.
Another cool option is The Ordinary 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder can be added to water, toner, moisturizer or serum to enhance your complexion over time. This powder works to improve radiance and even skin tone, promoting a healthy, glowing complexion. This superfine powder also helps to protect against external aggressors due to its antioxidant properties.

Pixi Beauty Vitamin C Collection
There’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Pixi Beauty skincare (as you can read in my previous post here and here. And I was super curious when I got a Vitamin C range from the brand. Apart from having a delicious lemony perfume, I have at least two favorite products that I’d like to stand out from this range.
Pixi Beauty Vitamin C Juice Cleanser is a gentle and brightening cleanser that improves the overall tone and appearance of the skin, since this antioxidant solution not only removes the impurities, but also protects the complexion and boosts collagen production. Orange, grapefruit and lemon oils make this provide not only a delicious smell, but also help to revitalize the skin and strengthen its natural barrier.
Personally, I love using this cleanser especially when I am a bit lazy to maintain my skin routine or when I feel that my skin needs an additional boost to feel refreshed and glowy.
Pixi Beauty Vitamin C Caviar Balm is my favorite one! The Vitamin-C Caviar Balm is a leave-on mask that provides a deep hydration and nourished the skin with antioxidants. With similar ingredients, this vitamin C mask has a very light and non-greasy texture and can be used as all-day skin protector. It does not cause irritation, which makes this mask to be perfect hydrating Vitamin C solution for sensitive skin.
I love using this at night to get a nourished, hydrated and beautiful skin (with no oily glow) in the morning.
