It’s been a long time since I wrote on my blog, and although I had to … since my cabinets are bursting with cosmetics sent by brands and I’ve tried so many things and I would like to share with you, but my hands only reached my Instagram page and not the blog. Of course, it’s a pity, but I promise to get better at this! And so, today’s post will be about beauty (as if it could have been something else. But in principle it could and will, but later) – namely about the Facetheory brand.

A bit about the brand…
I learned about Facetheory from numerous ads I saw on Facebook (to be honest, with so much advertising, it was simply impossible not to notice this brand). The concept of the brand is simple – clean skincare range with natural formulas that include carefully selected botanical ingredients such as green tea and chamomile, which, in combination with highly effective active substances such as retinol, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, guarantee great results and are available at an affordable price. Also, this 100% vegan brand does not use plastic packaging. All products are provided in amber glass jars with aluminum lids or 100% aluminum tubes that are easy to dispose or recycle.
In general, endless advertising and my curiosity won, and I decided to try Facetheory products. At first glance, when you go to the page of a web store, everything is simple: you can choose products by category (i.e. creams, tonics, etc.), or you can immediately look at the products on the problem that concerns you (i.e. acne, wrinkles, enlarged pores, sensitive skin, etc.) or simple search for active ingredients of your interest. The most interesting thing is that the brand sells its products with and without fragrance, so you can choose the option you want when ordering.
So what did I order?
My first choice fell on the “Oil Control” set, which includes Clarifying Cleanser C2 (180ml), Porebright Serum N10 & Supergel M3 Moisturiser (50ml) – a set that I decided to use for 30 days and see how my combination skin reacts to these products.
The Clarifying Cleanser is specially formulated for oily to combination skin and acts as a glycolic facial peel. A blend of alpha and beta hydroxy acids unclogs pores and minimizes redness, gently rejuvenating skin. The flavored version of this product (and the version included in this kit) contains cold-pressed mandarin oil. The high concentration of active substances in this product requires only a small amount per application. So, 180 ml, according to the manufacturer, is usually enough for about two months. To be honest, I have been using this product for over a month now, and have not yet reached half of the jar.
The product itself cleanses even very well and does not dry out the skin once washed off, but there is one thing: when applied, it begins to pinch the skin unpleasantly. It feels like I ate a lot of oranges (my association to the smell) and I had a slight diathesis. Of course, after washing off the product, there is no diathesis on the face at all, there is not even redness, and the skin feels deeply cleaned.
Immediately after cleansing, I apply Porebright N10 Serum, a light serum with 10% niacinamide and azelaic acid to even the skin tone and reduce pigmentation, redness and photoaging. Honestly, there’s not much to say about this one, but it is easily applicable, does not grease the skin, it is absorbed quickly enough, and over time it helps to minimize the pores. It can be used just like it is or to be applied under a moisturizer, which, in fact, I do, I apply it under the Supergel M3 Moisturiser.
Supergel M3 Moisturiser is, in my opinion, a very interesting product that moisturizes the skin, being easy enough to use on oily or combination and acne-prone skin. Thanks to ingredients like niacinamide, green tea, stabilized vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and aloe vera, this gel will not clog the pores and eliminates bacteria that contributes to acne.
My verdict…
After 30 days of using Facetheory products, I can say that I noticed some changes. Of course, the pores did not shrink to a microscopic size, but somehow the secretion of sebum decreased. The makeup started to last all day, and not mercilessly to slid off by the end by the lunchtime. There is no oily sheen and no acne at all anymore, which is perfect since daily usage of makeup and protection masks against coronavirus during the day in any public place, this is just an ideal environment for acne to appear, and I want to say that the Facetheory products help to protect the skin against all these aspects.
Sincerely, I did like them (and I ordered a few more jars for the experiment). As for the affordability of Facetheory products, I still disagree that this is an affordable brand, because the price of the brand’s products starts from 13 euros and reaches 29 euros per jar. Of course, compared to more expensive and natural brands, this is not even a bad price, but still it will not suit every wallet.
